Butchers Heat - Megretheholm

Butchers Heat at Margretheholm Harbor offers a unique sauna gus experience in a maritime setting. Here you'll find not only a stationary sauna with space for about 15 people, but also the legendary SaunaTruck - a converted military troop carrier from the Frogman Corps. This mobile sauna can be experienced at fixed pop-up spots, such as at Margretheholm, and can also be rented for private events. Practical

Rules and what to bring

Members must wear a personal wristband. Guests cost DKK 100 per person and must wear a yellow guest wristband. Maximum 4 guests per member. Alcohol is not permitted around the sauna area. Please respect the surrounding community.

Access

Butchers Heat is located at Vindmøllevej 9, 2300 København S. It is recommended to arrive well in advance to find the location. Drive down Vindmøllevej, then turn onto the gravel area to the far left towards the fence by the black wooden shed and Margretheholm Harbor.

Age limit

Membership and regular sauna gus sessions are for individuals over 18 years old. Children's gus is for children from 7 years old and is held on Tuesdays from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Sundays from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, only accompanied by an adult member.

Good to know

Butchers Heat was created by Catrine Mannerup, with reference to CrossFit Butcher's Lab. They offer 'Children's gus' with adapted heat and snacks, but advise against <a href="/en/preparing-for-gus">sauna gus for pregnant women</a>. Bring towels and swimwear. Remember to drink plenty of water before your visit. The Butchers Heat sauna tent is also available for those who wish to enjoy sauna gus at home or on the go.
